.NAME Domain Names
Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level extension is the single TLD intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level domain names remained functional.
Through our firm, you can buy your .NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to modify the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular restrictions on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
The dot NAME domain is among the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the correct spelling in your local language.
